The AD8352-EVALZ evaluation board supports an operating bandwidth up to 2.2 GHz, delivering a spurious-free dynamic range exceeding 80 dB at frequencies up to 200 MHz. This makes it an ideal driver for high-speed 12-bit to 16-bit analogue-to-digital converters.

The AD8352-EVALZ is a fully-featured evaluation board utilising a four-layer FR4 substrate design with all components pre-installed, enabling straightforward evaluation of all AD8352 characteristics.

 

The AD8352-EVALZ incorporates a bypassable transformer, supports single-ended or differential input/output, and provides mounting locations for impedance matching networks.

 

The AD8352-EVALZ evaluation board requires only a single supply voltage ranging from 3.0 V to 5.5 V, operating within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

 

The AD8352-EVALZ boasts impressive key specifications: a -3 dB bandwidth of 2.2 GHz, a single-resistor gain adjustment range from 3 dB to 25 dB, and an input resistance of 3 kΩ that remains gain-independent.

The AD8352 is a high-performance differential amplifier optimised for radio frequency (RF) and intermediate frequency (IF) applications.

 

Unlike other broadband differential amplifiers, the AD8352 incorporates a buffer that isolates the gain-setting resistors from the signal inputs.

 

This unique design maintains a constant 3 kΩ input impedance across the entire 3 dB to 25 dB gain range, significantly reducing matching and input drive requirements.

The AD8352-EVALZ achieves an output third-order intercept point of 41 dBm (at 150 MHz), with a slew rate of 8 V/ns and establishment and overshoot recovery times of just 2 ns.

 

The low-noise input stage is another highlight of the AD8352, featuring an input reference noise as low as 2.7 nV/√Hz at a gain of 10 dB.

AD8352-EVALZ Technical Details】

The AD8352 employs ADI's proprietary internal offset compensation scheme and a specialised silicon-on-insulator (SOI) SiGe process technology, XFCB-3, enabling it to maintain ultra-low distortion even at higher frequencies.

 

At 150MHz, the output third-order intercept point (OIP3) reaches 41dBm, while the quiescent current is only 37mA.

 

Unlike other wideband differential amplifiers, the AD8352 incorporates a buffer that isolates the gain-setting resistor from the signal input.

 

This design allows users to select the desired gain with a single external resistor without compromising noise performance or input matching, significantly reducing development time.

 

AD8352-EVALZ Application Domains】

The AD8352-EVALZ evaluation board primarily targets four key application domains: differential ADC drivers, single-ended-to-differential conversion, RF/IF gain modules, and SAW filter interfaces.

 

In communications system design, the AD8352 can directly drive high-speed 12-bit to 16-bit ADCs, meeting the stringent requirements for high linearity and low distortion in modern wireless infrastructure.
